EL EVATA (EL B&T) has launched the "Vision-2030" project to achieve the national objective/strategy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to transition “from an oil-producing country to an industrial country.” As partners in the electric vehicle and battery sector, EL EVATA and SIIVC, a state-owned company, have established a joint venture and obtained license from MISA. It is planning to commence contruction of a battery assembly plant with three battery lines in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, by late 2023.

The battery plant in Yanbu will serve as a gateway for North Africa and the Middle East beyond Saudi Arabia. The company aims to broaden its reach by building battery plants in 16 countries across the region.
